NEWS : Aayush Mohan performs at Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, London for the Ravi Shankar Centenary Show with Anoushka Shankar, John McLaughlin and other musicians on 5th March, 2022!
Aayush Mohan is today considered one of the finest Sarod Players on the global music scene. The Times of India describes him as having “supreme talent” and “immense craftsmanship”.
He has received training from the lineage of Maihar "Gharana" (school) of music which goes back to the famous musician "Tansen" who was the most prominent figure of Indian classical music in Mughal courts of India during the 16th century.
His playing on the Sarod is enriched with traditional repertoire of Indian Classical Ragas and the old-world classical essence and yet is a favourite among listeners of all genres owing to the versatility in his music. In 2015, he became the first Indian to be invited to perform at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles for the launch of the exhibition 'Ravi Shankar: A Life in Music'. He has done several collaborations with different genres of music including burrock music.
After listening to the Sarod and Sitar duet of Aayush Mohan and his brother Lakshay Mohan in 2012, Sitar Legend Ravi Shankar on seeing their incredible mastery decided to launch them for their debut USA tour under his foundation.

He has also given numerous motivational talks on various platforms including TEDx to make the younger generation more aware about cultural heritage.
Aayush Mohan has been hailed as one of the most outstanding and talented musicians of the young generations by legends Bharat Ratna Pt. Ravi Shankar and Sangeet Martand Pt. Jasraj.
After listening to the Jugalbandi of Aayush Mohan and his brother Sitarist Lakshay Mohan at the Ravi Shankar Centre in the year 2012, Pandit Ravi Shankar, on seeing their talent and dedication, decided to launch them for their debut USA tour under his foundation. This tour materialized in 2015 in which Lakshay & Aayush performed at many of the most prestigious music festivals and venues in the USA. Lakshay and Aayush are the first Indians to be invited to perform at The Grammy Museum, Los Angeles for the opening of the exhibition – “Ravi Shankar: A life in music”. This concert featured their collaboration with American cellist Barry Philips.
His recent albums “The Majestic court” by Times Music and “Echoes From the Yellow Land” by Mystica Music have been applauded by music lovers around the globe. His music has also been featured on Twaang, the new age online platform for classical music.
Aayush manages to strike a balance between technical brilliance, emotional content, raga purity and aesthetic awareness that is becoming very rare in the realm of Indian Classical Instrumental Music.

Aayush has received many awards and accolades some of which include ‘Excellence in Performing Arts’ awarded by Lok Sabha Speaker Smt. Meira Kumar and Sh. Shatrughan Sinha on the 75th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Litterateur and Parliamentarian Late Dr. Shankar Dayal Singh, the Delhi Pratibha Puraskar by Arts and Cultural Trust of India and many more. The All India Radio invited him to perform for a special broadcast on the occasion of United Nations International Broadcasting Day.
He was recently invited by the Ramakrishna Mission of Delhi, Jaipur, Bangalore and Arunachal to perform during the closing ceremony of Swami Vivekananda’s 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations.
